Vem ska trösta Mona? Eller Sveriges förlorade heder
Teater Tribunalen
- Welcome, everyone. We have gathered here today to discuss Tribunalens play *Who Will Comfort Mona?* or *Sweden’s Lost Honor*, what kind of play is it?
- It is a play about prejudice, racism, integration, but above all/
- The play is about the events following the honor killing of Fadime. The culturally motivated oppression of women that leads fathers and brothers to take the lives of their daughters and sisters. (Uproar in the room)
- This is exactly what the play is about - fear. Fear of the unfamiliar, of what we don’t understand. Of immigration/
- I would say it’s as much about Swedishness as it is about immigration.
- Who Will Comfort Mona? or *Sweden’s Lost Honor* is primarily about the media’s indulgence in the phenomenon of honor killings, their profit from suffering, prejudice, and fear.
- So you mean that this debate is fueled by that fear…?
