Mozarts requiem
Folkoperan
What is most important in life? What kind of world are you leaving behind for us? At Folkoperan, it’s the children who create a plan of action for the future. To Mozart’s immortal music, they guide us from the Day of Wrath to Eternal Light.
Mozart’s Requiem from 1791 is one of the most renowned choral works. This mass for the dead became the last piece Mozart composed. Despite being completed by another composer, it remains one of Mozart’s most powerful and beloved works.
“When Folkoperan performs this mythical masterpiece, we let the children take the stage to draw up life’s final balance sheet for us. It’s about summing up what matters most. What message will they carry forward? We want the audience to journey through the child’s iris into the future—to the life after us,” says Mellika Melouani Melani, Folkoperan’s artistic director.
