Cabaret
Helsingborg City Theatre
Kit Kat Club is an underground club by women, for women. Here, everything is allowed—sex, desire, alcohol, and decadence. Here, everyone can be who they want to be. Here, you can quench your thirst and satisfy your longing. But while the champagne flows and the colorful crowd of guests imagines another world, the atmosphere in interwar Berlin is anything but warm. The European metropolis has been hit hard in the aftermath of the war; inflation is at a record high, leaving people unemployed, impoverished, and desperate. The Nazis are gaining ground, along with intolerance, fascism and racism.
