The Black Rider
Folkteatern in Gothenburg
A marksman, a pact with the devil, a weapon loaded with magic bullets. Decay, loss, despair. And desire.
In the musical work The Black Rider, anything is possible—but everything has a price. From the first rush you are hooked. The production, directed by Mellika Melouani Melani, takes you through dark forests and strange myths accompanied by Tom Waits's powerful music, performed live by the renowned ensemble Tonbruket and Per Texas Johansson.
Tom Waits and William S. Burroughs's The Black Rider is based on the German folk tale Der Freischütz.
